At Evergreen Early Years International School, we are proud to offer a rich and inspiring early childhood curriculum rooted in globally recognized standards. Our aim is to provide every child with a joyful, meaningful, and high-quality foundation that prepares them not only for academic success but for lifelong curiosity, confidence, and creativity.
A British-Based, Internationally Recognized Curriculum
At the heart of our academic framework is a British-based early years curriculum designed to meet the needs of modern learners, with a global outlook and a strong emphasis on literacy, numeracy, inquiry, and personal development. We have selected this curriculum for its clarity, structure, and adaptability to local contexts while maintaining international excellence.
We are currently in the process of acquiring recognition to implement the Pearson Edexcel Early Years Curriculum, a well-regarded program that supports children’s development from the very start of their learning journey. Our team is working closely with Pearson to ensure alignment with their standards, and we are optimistic about securing the formal recognition that reflects our commitment to quality education.
Pearson Edexcel offers:
- Clear developmental milestones across key learning areas such as communication, physical development, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning
-A flexible framework that allows us to incorporate local cultural values and multilingual learning
- International benchmarking, ensuring that your child’s progress is in line with globally recognized early years expectations
- Preparation for future learning, making the transition to primary and international curricula seamless and well-supported
- We believe this curriculum is particularly well-suited for schools in Ethiopia that aspire to combine academic rigor with creativity, values, and global relevance. It allows us to honor our local context while ensuring children are equipped to thrive in any future academic environment.
- A Holistic Approach: Inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia
While our core curriculum draws from British international standards, our day-to-day classroom experiences are deeply enriched by globally respected early years philosophies, namely Montessori and Reggio Emilia.
From Montessori, we embrace hands-on, self-directed learning, where children are given the freedom to explore materials at their own pace, guided by skilled educators who understand how to support their unique developmental stages.
From Reggio Emilia, we take inspiration from the belief that children are powerful, capable learners whose ideas deserve respect and encouragement. We design learning spaces and experiences that promote exploration, expression, and collaboration, with nature and the arts playing a central role.
Together, these approaches ensure that children at Evergreen don’t just learn, they flourish. They develop independence, empathy, problem-solving skills, and a genuine love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
Learning in Context, Growing with Purpose
Our curriculum is not just about what children learn, but how they learn and why they learn. We carefully integrate local culture, language, and community engagement to help children form a strong sense of identity while growing into global citizens.
We welcome you to visit Evergreen and experience first-hand how our curriculum nurtures curious minds, kind hearts, and confident communicators, ready for the future and rooted in their present.
